Community I.M.P.A.C.T

Welcome to the Community Impact Programme—a transformative education initiative proudly offered by the Division of Education, Research and Technology. Rooted in our commitment to social development, this free programme is designed to provide adults with access to quality education and skills development opportunities across Tobago.
 
Whether you’re looking to complete CXC subjects, improve literacy and numeracy, or develop practical skills for employment or entrepreneurship, the Community Impact Programme is here to support your growth. Our goal is to remove barriers to learning and create inclusive spaces where individuals can thrive, regardless of age, background, or circumstance.
 
We believe that education is more than a personal achievement—it’s a community investment. By enhancing individual capacity, we empower families, strengthen communities, and ultimately enrich the island of Tobago.
About the Programme
Delivered in safe, inclusive, and community-based environments, the programme aims to:
  • Strengthen academic foundations through CXC and Iiteracy courses
  • Promote skill-building for employment and entrepreneurship
  • Encourage personal and professional development
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning across Tobago
  • Expand Learning into New Areas – Introduction of Spanish language and farming programmes to broaden participants’ skills, encourage practical learning, and create new opportunities for personal development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Classes are conducted by qualified facilitators and aligned with national development goals.
 
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to adults who are:
  • Seeking to complete or improve their academic qualifications (CXC, etc.)
  • Interested in developing life skills, technical abilities, or business knowledge
  • Motivated to learn in a supportive and community-focused setting
No prior academic qualifications are required.

I.M.P.A.C.T strategically focuses on improving the holistic (academic and co-curricular) development of all learners in the education sector through quality and equitable teaching and learning strategies that will unveil learning potential and provide varied learning experiences.

Parents are advised that their child/children can be enrolled by submitting an online application, downloading the form and submitting online or by collecting and dropping off at the Division’s Head Office. For further information, contact the Community Impact Team at 299-0781 ext. 3204.
